Pottstown community members are invited to share their thoughts and questions with the DVRPC project team at an open house event on Thursday, November 6, at the Pottstown Campus of the Montgomery County Community College.
The Schuylkill River Passenger Rail Authority is leading the effort to reestablish intercity passenger rail service between Reading and Philadelphia, with a stop in Pottstown. This new service would provide new transportation options for travelers and help reduce traffic congestion, improve air quality, and promote local economic development opportunities.
DVRPC is supporting this effort in Pottstown by working with Borough officials to evaluate local station infrastructure needs at and near the Charles W. Dickinson Transportation Center, where trains would stop, and identify opportunities to improve access and promote transit-oriented development near the proposed station.
Pottstown community members are invited to share their thoughts and questions with the DVRPC project team at an open house event on Thursday, November 6, at the Pottstown Campus of the Montgomery County Community College. Attendees are welcome any time between 4:00 and 7:00 PM to:
- Learn more about DVRPC’s work,
- Share their experience of traveling to and through downtown Pottstown, and
- Provide feedback on the opportunities that new train service might present for residents, employees, and businesses.
