3. 1998 - 2002 Transportation Improvement Program (NJ) Modification as Necessary
During the course of the year, it becomes necessary to amend or modify the existing Transportation Improvement Program. New Jersey DOT has requested a modification to the FY 1998 - 2002 TIP concerning Enhanced Vehicle Maintenance and Inspection.
4. New Jersey Congestion Management System (CMS)
In October, the Board approved a CMS for operation in the Pennsylvania portion of the region. This month the RTC will review the system for the New Jersey counties and is expected to make a positive recommendation to the Board. Federal regulations require a fully operational system at the start of FY 1998.
5. Schedule of Meeting Dates for 1998
The schedule of RTC meeting dates for 1998 is enclosed. Please review these dates and recommend any changes during the meeting.
STATUS REPORTS
6. Mobility Alternatives Program
The first quarter report on MAP implementation results will be provided.
7. FY 1999 Planning Work Program Development
The Board's Work Program Committee on the development of the FY 1999 Planning Work Program has met three times, most recently on November 10. Staff will provide an overall status report including a schedule for the Transit Support Program (TSP).
8. Intelligent Transportation System (ITS)
Staff will provide a summary of the ITS conference held at DVRPC in October. RTC recommendations on future ITS coordination and committee structure will be sought.
9. 1990 Travel Simulation
All Travel and ridership forecasts for projects such as the Cross Country Metro, PA Route 41, US 202, South Jersey Light Rail System, Schuylkill Valley Metro, Woodhaven Expressway are based on DVRPC's Travel Simulation Model. Staff will present and compare the results to actual highway and transit volumes. Explanation of the models as validated with recent surveys and census data will be provided.
