3. Pennsylvania TIP Development Process

PennDOT staff has worked with MPO's and other partners throughout the state to design a new way of developing transportation plans and programs. Several work groups were formed, including financial guidance, to assist in this process. The conclusions of the financial guidance work group were presented to a statewide committee meeting on August 25, 1998. Staff will present a summary.

4. Transportation Equity Act for the 21st Century

Funding for Transportation Enhancements was increased under the new legislation, and certain changes in eligibility and procedures were made. Staff will review these points and discuss the schedule and process for project selection.

5. Pennsylvania Statewide Long Range Transportation Plan

Consistent with the requirements of TEA-21, PennDOT has embarked on developing a Statewide Transportation Plan. With a year 2025 horizon, the plan will include all travel modes and will fully contain the region's 2020 Transportation Plan. Central Office staff will outline the process and schedule, and DVRPC staff will review current plan project lists.

6. Bicycle Facilities for Existing Roadways

Staff has finished work on the first year of this program and is prepared to make recommendations for programming. Candidate funding sources include Transportation Enhancement (TE), Congestion Management Air Quality (CMAQ), and Surface Transportation - Urban (STU).
