Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Week is designed to raise awareness of the importance of safe and reliable travel options for all users in the transportation planning process and to encourage employers to adopt TDM practices that help reduce the carbon footprint of their employees’ commutes.

September 16 - 20 is National Transportation Demand Management (TDM) Week. TDM Week is designed to raise awareness of the importance of safe and reliable travel options for all users in the transportation planning process and to encourage employers to adopt TDM practices that help reduce the carbon footprint of their employees’ commutes. TDM strategies may include employee subsidies for the use of transit and vanpools, preferred parking for carpoolers, installing bike racks, flextime, telecommuting, and similar measures. These benefits can help businesses and local governments compete for talent, reduce roadway demand during peak hours, and help make our communities cleaner and greener.

During TDM Week, DVRPC and our partner Transportation Management Associations (TMAs) will be celebrating and promoting the positive benefits TDM has in our communities. To learn more about TDM, follow the hashtag #TDMWeek across social media platforms. Organizations and individuals can get involved by taking a TDM Week pledge to commit to spreading awareness of the many positive benefits TDM has on the sustainability of our communities and the quality of life of all people. You can also learn more about local TDM options by viewing DVRPC’s Mobility Alternatives webpage.
