The DVRPC Board has approved over $1.2 million to fund 12 innovative transportation projects through the Travel Options Program (TOP). The program funds projects that will provide better access to and awareness of more travel options in the DVRPC region, such as walking, biking, and taking transit. The goal is to reduce the number of single occupancy vehicles on the region’s roadways–a practice otherwise known as Transportation Demand Management (TDM).
Selected projects include an evaluation of transit access on US Route 1 in Bucks County, a study of transit ridership needs in the City of Chester, a demonstration of bike and pedestrian lanes in Burlington County, a program to promote bicycling in Hatfield, Montgomery County, and more. TOP will also fund Phase Two of Getting to Green, a multimedia public art project with Mural Arts celebrating the experience of riding SEPTA buses to parks. View the full list of selected projects on the TOP webpage.
