DVRPC Approves $15.5 Million for Bicycle and Pedestrian Projects in PA

The Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) has awarded $15.5 million to eleven local projects in Southeastern Pennsylvania through the Regional Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside Program (TASA).

The federal program funds community-based "non-traditional" projects designed to strengthen the cultural, aesthetic, and environmental aspects of the nation's intermodal transportation system. Selected projects include trail, sidewalk, pedestrian improvements, and on-road bicycle improvements. In addition to this regional funding round, there are 16 projects worth $17.2 million that will be recommended for funding through a Statewide TA selection process in spring 2024.

“These eleven projects will enable communities to build multi-use trails, safe routes to school, pedestrian pathways, bike lanes, and other projects that provide safe, resilient, and sustainable transportation options throughout our region,” said Ariella Maron, DVRPC Executive Director. “With this round of awards, we are also able to support investment in the Circuit Trails, our region’s planned network of more than 800 miles of multi-use trails.”
