118237 | Markley and Elm Street over Stony Creek (Montgomery County)
This project is a breakout of the US 202 Section 510 project (MPMS #80021) currently in construction and scheduled for completion in Fall 2023. The project will rehabilitate the existing stone arch bridge that is currently in poor condition. The repairs to the bridge include stone masonry repairs, repointing of mortar joints, scour protection, replacing stone barriers with concrete moment slab barriers with stone facing, and removal of soil cover and backfilling with lightweight concrete fill. The proposed improvements also include full-depth pavement reconstruction of the Markley Street approaches and side road adjustments on Elm Street, curb, sidewalk, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps, signing and pavement markings, utility relocations and a new traffic signal. Work will be performed under a full detour (southbound Markley Street car detour - 0.6 miles; southbound Markley Street truck detour – 2.0 miles; northbound Markley Street detour – 3.3 miles; Elm Street detour – 0.9 miles).
