This project involves the replacement of the state-owned bridge located on Perkiomenville Road over Sciota Creek in Upper Frederick
Township, Montgomery County. The existing bridge, built in 1932, is a one-span concrete closed spandrel arch with a span length of 30
feet. The bridge is two lanes wide with no shoulders or sidewalk. The existing approach roadway is 21 feet wide with two lanes and no
shoulders or sidewalk. The bridge is currently posted at 36 tons/40 tons for combination.
A final alternative for bridge rehabilitation or replacement is determined upon federal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) or
state Categorical Exclusion clearance.
