D2408 | Old Trenton Road (CR 535) Multimodal and Operational Improvements, Paxson Road to County Line (Mercer County)

The purpose of this project is to consider improvements along the corridor as a whole to create a continuous multimodal corridor from the beginning of the four-lane segment in Hamilton Township to the terminus of Mercer jurisdiction at the Middlesex County Line. Local Concept Development would include consideration of a road diet to significantly increase vehicle, pedestrian, and cyclist safety along a corridor that includes schools, parks, and residential development. Sidewalks or sidepaths may be incorporated where the cartway is too narrow for bicycle lanes. Intersections may be upgraded. Depending on outcomes of the LCD, a Highway Safety Manual (HSM) Analysis may be performed to determine potential eligibility for Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) funds.
