DVRPC Products

This document estimates energy use and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in DVRPC’s nine-county Greater Philadelphia region. Data are for 2015. This is DVRPC’s third such inventory. Earlier inventories were published using 2005 and 2010 data. The evaluations summarized in this report were in support of PennDOT’s statewide effort to promote the establishment of formal access management ordinances for state and local highways. A case study of PA 291 was conducted and ideas and plans were prepared to illustrate the benefits of safety and access management strategies.

This report describes Shifting Gears, a three-step process that included inventories of regional bicycle facilities, outreach to stakeholders, and an online survey. Included are descriptions of each of the various components of the program, a set of proposed priority locations based on the inventories and outreach sessions, and survey findings.
