Get to know Principal Graphic Artist Becky Maule.
What did you study in college?
Initially, I was looking into pursuing psychology and art therapy; then I moved onto interior design, and I finally settled on graphic design.
How did you end up at DVRPC?
Kim Dean, the former manager of Creative Services, and I knew each other in college, and she informed me that there was an opening, so I applied! Twenty-three years later, I am still here.
What are your responsibilities? Has anything changed over time?
When I started, everything was print–we’ve come a long way! When I was in school, we were one of the first classes to be on a computer. Once at DVRPC, and with technology changing so rapidly, we quickly moved onto web-based design, then design for social media, and now beyond with design with accessibility in mind.
What is something colleagues don’t know about you?
I’m a nerd. I’m into Marvel, the MCU, and other comics and manga.
What actor would play you in the movie version of your life?
Kate McKinnon
What is the best music you’ve heard recently?
Lately, I've been listening to a lot of different genres of lofi, as well as a lot of 90s J-rock and J-pop.
What are the top three places you want to travel to?
I’d love to have a couple of months in Japan, for both traditional and modern sites and sounds. I’d also love to visit Spain and then take the trip from there to Morocco.
Are you a cat or dog person?
BOTH! I grew up with only dogs, but around 15 years ago, we adopted a cat, and now I want to be a full-on cat lady one day! LOL.
