The PPTF provides ongoing access to the regional planning and decision-making process and empowers residents to get involved in regional planning.
In January, DVRPC welcomed 20 new members to the Public Participation Task Force (PPTF). The PPTF strives to represent the diversity and accessibility needs of the Greater Philadelphia region by working with residents on DVRPC’s planning and engagement work. Incoming members were selected based on the values and interests shared in their PPTF applications by a review committee composed of two DVRPC staff members, two planning and community engagement professionals, and three graduating task force members. Each county in DVRPC’s nine-county region is represented by the 47 members of the task force. They will serve as representatives and community liaisons throughout 2025.
On February 4, 2025, recently accepted members joined returning veteran members for the Annual Public Participation Task Force Member Orientation Meeting at DVRPC’s offices in Philadelphia, where they learned more about DVRPC and the task force through presentations from Ariella Maron, Executive Director; Alison Hastings, Director of Operations, Communications, and Engagement; and Shoshana Akins, Manager of Public Participation Planning.
Visit the PPTF webpage to learn more and apply for a 2026 Public Participation Task Force seat. Applications for the 2026 Task Force are accepted through December 2025. You can also learn more about the PPTF by attending their next virtual public meeting on Thursday, March 13, at 6:00 pm.
