The PPTF provides ongoing access to the regional planning and decision-making process and empowers citizens to get involved in regional planning.

In January, DVRPC welcomed 13 new members to the Commission’s Public Participation Task Force (PPTF). The PPTF strives to represent the ethnic, cultural, gender, age, education, and economic diversity and accessibility needs of the Greater Philadelphia region by working with residents on the Commission’s planning and engagement work. Incoming members were selected based on the values and interests shared in their PPTF applications by a review committee comprised of two DVRPC staff members, four planning and community engagement professionals, and one graduating task force member. The 40 members of the task force will serve as representative and community liaisons for DVRPC’s nine-county region throughout 2024.

On February 6, 2024, recently accepted members joined returning veteran members for the Annual Public Participation Task Force Member Orientation Meeting at DVRPC’s offices in Philadelphia, where they learned more about DVRPC and the task force through presentations from Patty Elkis, Deputy Director; Shoshana Akins, Manager of Public Participation; Wideleine Desir, Public Participation Planner; and Jerrett Johnson, PPTF member.

Visit https://dvrpc.org/committees/pptf/ to learn more about the PPTF and apply for a 2025 Public Participation Task Force seat. Applications for the 2025 Task Force are accepted through December 6, 2024.
