Operations Intern

Job Description 

Assist DVRPC’s Office of Operations. The Office of Operations is involved in organizational development, meeting coordination and collaboration, and employee engagement. The intern will play a key role in supporting our Operations team by contributing to various projects and initiatives aimed at fostering a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with core values and our internal strategic plan. Close supervision is provided by the Operations Manager and Special Projects Coordinator. 

Responsibilities 

  • Assist with monthly internal and external meetings 
  • Assist with identifying learning opportunities for DVRPC staff and the organization of learning materials available
  • Research and compile a database of conferences that DVRPC staff routinely attend for learning and career advancement opportunities
  • Support the maintenance and update of the intranet site with relevant information, resources, and announcements
  • Help plan and maintain employee engagement activities
  • Perform related work as required

Qualifications 

  • Knowledge of and experience with organizational development, human resources, or learning and development
  • Excellent writing and communications skills 
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task
  • Proficiency in Google Suite is required
  • Basic knowledge of Philadelphia regional issues and geography

Availability 

Availability to start on January 7th, 2025 is preferred. This is a hybrid position which requires a commitment of up to 15 hours per week. 

Compensation 

Interns currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree will be compensated at a rate of $17 per hour. Those pursuing or holding a Master’s degree will receive $20 per hour. We encourage students with Work-Study funding to apply. 

Minimum Education and Training 

Must have completed at least ONE YEAR of a college/university program or be enrolled in a master's, or an equivalent combination of experience and training, plus substantial experience, interest, or involvement in Organizational Development, HR or a related area.
