Electric Vehicle Resource Kit for Municipalities
This resource kit is intended to help the user answer "What should my municipality do about electric vehicles?" It is written specifically for municipal managers in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with a focus on the Greater Philadelphia region. However, the information it provides is likely to be useful to other users, including businesses, fleet managers, and potential electric vehicle owners.
Planning for Electric Vehicles – Mapping Vehicle Distribution and Workplace Charging Demand
The “Planning for Electric Vehicles - Mapping Vehicle Distribution and Workplace Charging Demand” webmap allows planners to access results from the DVRPC/UC Davis Electric Vehicle Planning Toolkit. These results include current and projected numbers and geographic distribution of Plug-in Electric Vehicles (PEVs) and the anticipated workplace charging demand associated with future distribution. The map series shows these data and projections for three different geographies: the 9-county DVRPC region, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the State of New Jersey. The EV Planning Toolkit uses different future PEV penetration scenarios to produce the data displays for each geography. The current and future PEV distribution data are viewable at the municipal and Census Block Group levels. The workplace charging demand data are viewable only at the Census Block Group level.
Mid-Atlantic Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Summit
On April 30, 2019, DVRPC hosted the Mid-Atlantic Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Summit, a day of presentations and discussions co-organized with experts from the Plug-in Hybrid & Electric Vehicle (PH&EV) Research Center of the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis (California).
Electric Vehicles Today and Tomorrow
On November 6, 2017, DVRPC presented a full-day workshop led by experts from the Plug-in Hybrid & Electric Vehicle (PH&EV) Research Center of the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis (California). The workshop was delivered in two parts. The morning presented and discussed the most up to date research on electric vehicles, with a focus on current and future EV markets, charging behavior, and the design and siting of charging infrastructure. Following a networking lunch, the afternoon session will focused on the PH&EV Research Center’s EV infrastructure GIS toolbox which includes tools for temporal and spatial forecasting of the demand for charging infrastructure including home, work and DC fast chargers.
The workshop was led by Gil Tal and Tom Turrentine of the PH&EV Research Center, the world’s leading university research center on plug-in hybrid and electric vehicles. The Center has over ten years of experience focused solely on plug-in electric vehicles, using the data-rich California EV market for its research on how the public selects and uses EVs.
DVRPC has conducted several projects related to Alternative Fuel Vehicles in the DVRPC Region.
Ready to Roll! Southeastern Pennsylvania's Regional Electric Vehicle Action Plan
Ready to Roll! is a comprehensive, regionally coordinated approach to introducing EVs and electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) into the five counties of southeastern Pennsylvania (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia).
Ready to Roll?: Overview of Challenges and Opportunities for Alternative Fuel Vehicles in the Delaware Valley
Ready to Roll? is a report cataloging the general challenges and benefits of all available alternative fuel vehicles.
Pennsylvania Partnership to Promote Natural Gas Vehicles
The Pennsylvania Partnership to Promote Natural Gas Vehicles seeks to reduce the barriers to cost-effective introduction of compressed natural gas vehicles, particularly into municipal refuse vehicle and school bus fleets.
