3. PennDOT’s I-76 Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) Project
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has initiated an Integrated Corridor
Management (ICM) program for the I-76 corridor. Innovative strategies and tools are being used to
mitigate major traffic and safety impacts along I-76. These tools include variable speed limit signs, queue
detection/warning, dynamic junction and lane use controls, adaptive ramp metering and traffic signal
management, flexible lane use and multimodal enhancements. Jay Roth, Jacobs Engineering, will provide
an overview of this effort.
4. Truck Wayfinding in the City of Chester - Balancing Community and Business Needs
Freight movement is a driving force of the economy in the City of Chester. DVRPC Project Manager Al Beatty will highlight recommended strategies to facilitate the efficient movement of heavy trucks between local businesses and the regional roadway network, while minimizing potentially negative impacts on residents.
5. NJ ITS Architecture Advancement Project (The Connected Corridor, v2.0)
New Jersey’s multi-agency collaborative framework for ITS & TSMO program planning, called The Connected Corridor, is launching a sustainable program to strengthen the project pipeline. Efforts over the past year and half have provided three complementary outcome areas: an updated New Jersey ITS Architecture, a commitment to an ongoing multi-agency “think tank” called the ITS Architecture Committee (IAC), and a business case resource document - The Connected Corridor v2.0. Project consultant Kathleen Swindler of WSP will provide highlights.
