2. SOUTH JERSEY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY CONTRA FLOW PLANS; JIM SULLIVAN, SJTA The SJTA has developed Contra Flow Plans for the AC Expressway as part of their hurricane evacuation planning efforts. A brief presentation about how the plans were developed and the results of a recent simulation at the Joint Technology Center at Fort Dix testing these plans will be presented.
3. I-95 CORRIDOR COALITION MILE MARKER STUDY; KARL ZIEMER, DRPA; DENNIS MOTIANI, NJDOT As an incident management tool, roadway signs are an important tool in locating crashes and other roadside emergencies and getting the proper help where it is needed. The I-95 CC in cooperation with the University of Maryland and the University of Iowa are studying the effectiveness (comprehension, legibility, size, color, etc) of various existing roadway signs. The goal is to standardize mile marker, 1/10th mile marker, and ramp designation signs along the I-95 Corridor and ultimately the nation, thereby providing recognizable and universal signs to all motorists.
4. RIMIS; STAN PLATT, DVRPC The RIMIS Subcommittee based upon the RIMIS Functional Requirements, has selected TRANSCOM's RA Web software as web based platform to link traffic, transit, and emergency response agency operation centers in the Delaware Valley. A brief presentation of this software will be presented.
5. PENNDOT'S REGIONAL OPERATIONS PLAN (ROP); KEITH MULLINS, JACOBS EDWARDS & KELCEY PennDOT is developing ROPs for each PennDOT District in the state, with the intent to identify a prioritized list of programs and projects to improve transportation operations. A brief summary of these findings, along with details on the four highest priority recommendations for regional operational improvements will be presented.
