ACTION ITEMS

4. Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

During the fiscal year, state Departments of Transportation (DOTs), member governments or transit operators must modify and/or amend the TIP to reflect current schedules and needs.

Amendment 9828 - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) requests a series of modifications to the FY1998-2002 TIP for New Jersey, as detailed in the enclosed letter from John Moore.

Amendment 9906 - DRPA request, the addition of the "Smart Bridges" program to integrate various ITS Applications to the FY1999-2002 TIP for Pennsylvania.

Amendment 9907 - Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) request for concurrence on proposed projects to utilize FY1999 funding under the "Transit Enhancements" project (TIP #S090) in the FY 1999-2002 TIP for Pennsylvania.

4. Major Investment Study (MIS) - Route 41

5. New Jersey Study and Development Program

NJDOT requests an amendment to the FY1999-2001 Study & Development Program to include the Washington Township (Mercer) Access Management Study which is considering a bypass for Route 33 among other possible system improvements.

6. Regional Job Access and Reverse Commute Transportation Plan

DVRPC prepared the proposed Plan in accordance with the FTA's Guidance document published in the October 30, 1998 Federal Register. It incorporates previous DVRPC work on reverse commuting, access to jobs, welfare to work and bi-state commuting. It includes a six-point Action Strategy to overcome barriers to job access that was accepted by the DVRPC Board on December 4, 1998, as part of the evaluation process for proposed FY1999 Job Access grant projects. The Plan also incorporates review comments and updated information received from various City, County and State agency representatives, as well as participants in the May 10 public hearing.

7. Year 2020 Regional and County Population and Employment Forecasts

DVRPC staff has been working with the City and County Planning staffs to prepare revised forecasts of population and employment, extended out to the Year 2025. The methodology used and proposed results will be presented by staff and approval action is anticipated.

INFORMATION ITEMS

8. TransitChek

The TransitChek program has seen a tremendous rise in sales with the introduction of TEA-21 legislation. Recent outreach to employers has increased awareness and participation. Staff will present sales figures and discuss plans for future growth of the program.

Planning beyond the Pipeline (New Jersey counties should bring completed reviews of pipeline inventory).
