Beginning in the fall of 2020, DVPRC conducted an analysis of nearly two decades of Housing Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) data, and identified racial, ethnic, and geographic mortgage lending disparities that exist in the region. Detailed findings were published last spring in a report titled: Barriers to Building Generational Wealth: Mortgage Lending Disparities Across Greater Philadelphia. 

DVRPC’s Office of Smart Growth investigates topics at the intersection of land use, transportation, and economic development. Staff will discuss the Smart Growth team's use of qualitative and quantitative data for projects exploring permit parking reform in Philadelphia, future uses for shopping malls, and affordable housing strategies.
