1. Call to Order
Task Force members and friends will be welcomed and recognized. Highlights from the previous freight advisory committee meeting on July 13, 2016 (conducted as the Downtown Delivery Symposium II) will be offered for approval.
2. Critical Urban Freight Corridors
In support of the FAST Act and the National Highway Freight Program (NHFP), PennDOT has requested that DVRPC identify Critical Urban Freight Corridors for potential addition to the new National Highway Freight Network (NHFN). Ted Dahlburg will provide an overview of DVRPC’s effort to complete this important task.
3. CSX Doublestacking Project
CSX representatives will briefly describe a proposed project to create doublestacking capabilities on its Philadelphia Subdivision, extending from Philadelphia to points south of the Delaware Valley.
4. New Jersey Department of Transportation Freight Planning Updates
Thanh Le of the Bureau of Freight Services, NJDOT will provide an overview of NJDOT’s Freight Management System and a demonstration of the current system. Stephen Chiaramonte, Parsons Brinkerhoff, will provide a brief update on the New Jersey Freight Plan and touch upon the goal and objectives of the Plan.
5. Freight Challenges and Intermodal Opportunities for Stronger Ports and Waterways
With growing megaregions requiring more and more freight movement, innovative approaches are needed to manage congestion while meeting demand. John Kennedy will discuss MARAD and US DOT programs that provide support for freight and port planning activities, multimodal infrastructure enhancements, and waterborne services.
6. Amazon Campus Program
Eddie Perez, Site Manager from Amazon@Penn, will provide an overview of the Amazon Campus program and the different services Amazon@Penn provides for the University of Pennsylvania community.
7. Two-minute Reports
Task Force and Subcommittee chairs and Task Force members and friends are invited to offer updates on the activities of their companies and agencies.
8. Old or New Business/Adjournment
Old or new items of business will be considered. The proposed 2017 meeting dates of the Delaware Valley Goods Movement Task Force are: January 13, April 12, July 12, and October 11.
