Delaware Valley Goods Movement Task Force

Task Force members and friends will be welcomed. Highlights from the previous freight advisory committee meeting on April 14, 2021 will be offered for approval.

Julia Kortrey, Senior Project Officer, New Jersey Economic Development Authority, will provide an overview of the future of the Offshore Wind Sector in New Jersey. New Jersey has established an ambitious goal of generating 7.5 GW of electricity from offshore wind energy by 2035 as part of the State’s Energy Master Plan. Plans are moving ahead with the approval of two wind farms and ongoing development of a purpose-built wind port in south Jersey.

 

High-Potential Regions for Electric Truck Deployments

 

Dave Schaller, Industry Engagement Director, North American Council for Freight Efficiency, will provide an overview of the recently published research on the High-Potential Regions for Electric Truck Deployments. This report proposes a framework for prioritizing US and Canadian regions for electric truck deployments based on differences in key enabling traits. Pennsylvania and New Jersey rank among the highest potential states for deployment of heavy-duty electric truck technology.

DVRPC freight planning staff will provide a brief update on current planning efforts and provide committee members an opportunity to provide input on the future format of DVGMTF meetings.

Subcommittee chairs and Task Force members and friends are invited to offer updates on the activities of their companies and agencies.
