A ribbon cutting was held on April 24, 2024, to celebrate the opening of the Bridge Street Trail Crossing on the D&L Trail in Morrisville, Pennsylvania.

The Bridge Street Trail Crossing on the D&L Trail in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, is officially open! The long-awaited crossing closes a critical gap in the D&L Trail. It features two ramps and a mid-block crossing, enabling 30 miles of uninterrupted travel. It was identified as a “top ten trail gap” by the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).

A ribbon cutting was held on April 24, 2024, with Pennsylvania DCNR Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn, Senator Steven J. Santarsiero, Representative Jim Prokopiak, and representatives of the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, the D&L National Heritage Corridor, DVRPC, Bucks County, and Morrisville Borough.

Since 2015, DVRPC has worked with partners to help shepherd the project from idea to reality. The Regional Trails Program contributed $85,000 to the project for design and acquisition, and construction ($1.4 million) was fully funded through the PA Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). In addition, DVRPC served as the PennDOT project manager for this effort.

The Regional Trails Program provides planning assistance and financial support to trail developers, counties, municipalities, and nonprofit organizations to complete the Circuit, Greater Philadelphia's 800-plus-mile network of multi-use trails. With financial support from the William Penn Foundation, the program has provided $23 million in funding to 139 trail planning, design, and construction projects to date.
